As iOS 7 has introduced the widgets in the notification area as so iOS 8, but what is new included in the iOS 8 is the custom widgets in the Notification that can be pull down at any stage even using an app – along with an edit button right at the bottom of the notification area.
This edit button helps you to move, shuffle, rearrange, enable, disable widgets and more over it tells you how many built-in widgets are installed and how many third-party widgets are installed and ready to go. It also provide you with the Widget security that means data accessing of widgets is made secure through iOS explicit request using a tap. Notification Area is just a place to provide you a view of widgets, that’s why they aren’t run on the iOS.
3. Health and Health Kit in iOS 8:
Apple includes Apple M7 motion coprocessor which helps you tracks many health related issues as Blood Pressure and Sleep trackers, Sugar-level checker and many scales.
HealthKit provides developers with an application programming interface (API) that can be used to develop health related applications on a single place.
4. Manual Camera controls in iOS 8:
While the Camera app in iOS 8 is only getting a few new features, the Camera application programming interfaces (API) — what developers use to make App Store camera apps — is getting the most significant update in the history of the platform, including and especially manual controls for focus, exposure, and white balance – SRC
It also includes features like: manual focus, manual exposure, exposure compensation, manual white balance and much more.
5. Touch ID in iOS 8:
Touch ID is the name of Apple’s personal fingerprint identity sensor. It’s what currently lets you authenticate yourself to unlock your iPhone 5s and authorize iTunes and App Store purchases on your account. With iOS 8, Apple is making an application programming interface (API) available to developers as well so everything from your password manager to banking service to private photo vault can be both secure and convenient as described by imore.
6. iCloud in iOS 8:
Source says that iCloud Drive and its associated Document Picker are new features of iOS 8 that allow the app you’re using to open files created in a different app, import them, move them, or export them right back out again, all without creating any unnecessary steps or complicated workflows. Everything is also automatically synced through iCloud, so changes made in one app won’t only be reflected back in the original app that created the file, but on all your devices.
